Course advice

Choosing a course is a decision, not a purchase

Independent advice on qualifications, providers and pathways, for people deciding what to study and for the organisations paying for it.

IWhat we do

Three things, done properly.

i

Pathway advice

Where a qualification actually leads, including when the honest answer is nowhere useful.

ii

Provider comparison

Comparing providers on delivery, support and outcomes rather than on marketing spend.

iii

Employer advice

For organisations funding study, whether the qualification will produce the capability they are paying for.

IIWhat goes wrong

The two failures we see most.

We publish these because most of the value in hiring anyone is knowing which mistakes are common, and that knowledge is not worth hiding.

Qualification mistaken for licence

Many qualifications prepare you for a role without licensing you for it. That distinction is rarely made clearly before enrolment.

Enrolling above the level

Starting at a level the learner is not ready for produces a withdrawal, a debt and a discouraged person, in that order.

IIIHow we work

We tell you what we find.

Including when the answer is that you do not need what you came to ask for. Anyone who never says that is not giving you information, they are giving you an invoice.

Scope

Where something needs a legal opinion, a financial audit or a clinical judgement, we will say so and stop rather than improvise past the edge of what we do.

Start a conversation.

Tell us the situation rather than the service you think you need. We would rather start from your problem.
